The Pension Team is responsible for undertaking specialised pensions administrative and technical activities for members of the Local Government Pensions Scheme.
Assistant Pensions Technicians are critical to the effective and efficient operation of the pension fund.
The post holder must be able to deal with high volumes of work and have the ability to complete tasks with a high standard of accuracy whilst providing excellent an customer service to members of the pension fund.

The role of the Assistant Pensions Technician is to undertake pensions administrative activities principally around the processing of benefits casework in accordance with LGPS regulations.
You will work as part of a team processing pension benefits on behalf of our members and assisting them with queries.
The job will include:
- Completion of complex benefit casework including checking, coding, calculations and information processing
- Managing a high volume of casework, working to deadlines and completing work to a high standard of accuracy
- Respond to non-routine enquiries from a variety of contacts both over the telephone and in writing

The contractual work location for this role is listed above however you may be required to work from a range of work locations or sites within the Borough and may also be required to work from home, depending on the needs of the service.
