Cygnet Aspen House is a 20 bed service specialising in high dependency inpatient rehabilitation for women who have severe and enduring mental illness.
The post will be full time 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, 09:00am - 17:00pm
We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the psychological care of service users by assisting the Qualified Psychologistin the delivery and evaluation of Psychological Services that meet Cygnet Healthcare objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations.
To thereby help understand, prevent and ameliorate psychological distress and disorder and improve mental health and wellbeing of clients. The role involves the administration, scoring and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation, care plans and supervised individual and group interventions. You will be working alongside a number of health professionals within the Women’s service, and will provide verbal and written feedback as required
Full induction training is given. You will be learning all the time through our on-going mentoring and support. Clinical supervision is an important part of development, which will be provided by a senior psychologist and there will be training opportunities to support professional development.
You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated and well organised.
You will have a good understanding of the role of therapeutic boundaries and the importance of evidence-based interventions.
Patience and commitment are essential, but above all you will be someone with a genuine desire to help others with excellent verbal and written skills.
A good level (2:1 or above)above) BPS (British Psychological Society) Accredited Undergraduate Degree in Psychology (or equivalent)
Previous experience in a paid/voluntary Assistant Psychologist role
Member or eligible to be part of the British Psychological Society
Some experience within the healthcare sector
A Psychology Masters Qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
A passion for learning and working as part of a multidisciplinary team
