Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Job Type:Permanent

Location: Cambridge

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Up to £35k annually DOE

Duties & Responsibilities (including and not limited to):

- To assist with the negotiation of sub-contract orders
- Checking and authorising Subcontract Orders and Payments
- To assist the Quantity Surveyor as and when required
- Preparing sub-contract order requisitions
- Be able to accommodate site visits as required
- Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks during project delivery

Desirable Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor on residential projects
- Experienced with residential projects
- Experience running projects from inception to completion
- Experience working on residential projects
- Experience working with a main contractor

Qualifications & Skills:

- Degree qualified (essential)
- A creative and innovative approach to problem solving
- Strong numeracy and financial management skills
- The ability to learn sophisticated design and costing IT packages
- Negotiation and team work skills
- The ability to motivate and lead those on site
- A detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters.
