Hunter Global Recruitment are actively recruiting for an Assistant Site Manager to operate within Operations at our client’s site in the Ashbourne area. The suitable candidate must be People Focused and have strong Engagement skills.

Duties & Responsibilities - * Must be able to work with numbers either planning and or stock control and must be able to present passed examples.

* Experience of working with systems including ERP system Food Process & Manufacturing Background

* Will have Audit experience

* Contribute to that department/ add value by developing requisite skills in this area in line with company competency framework.

* Plan, direct, and coordinate egg collection and chick delivery schedules.

* To be instrumental in maintaining and improving the standards of hatchability, chick quality, hygiene, chick welfare and overall hatchery performance.

* Monitor and improve the incubation process and result.

* Assess customer requirements and ensure that these are met with respect to day old chick deliveries.

* The role will include writing management reports, recording, analysing, and distributing statistical information.

* Work in conjunction with the technical function to maintain compliance with Assurance Schemes and Customer COPS.

* As part of the management team provide operational management cover for the Hatchery Manager, Production Manager & QA Manager as required.

* To ensure all machinery, equipment, plant and buildings are maintained to the highest standard and report any problems to the engineer including the Manager if necessary.

* To assist in maintaining 24 hour, 7 days a week alarm cover and weekend management presence on a rota basis. Ensure that the alarm system is adequately maintained and tested regularly.

* To manage and maintain noise levels, site security, vehicle movements, pollution, general appearance of the site and personnel such that a reasonable high standard, high quality pubic image of the company is portrayed.

* To ensure at all times Company Policy on animal welfare is adhered to, training and supervising staff as necessary. The welfare of livestock and humane disposal of chicks when required is of a paramount importance.

* To organise, control and monitor all stages of chick production/ delivery such that risks are minimised, and relevant documentation is completed accurately.

* To keep the Hatchery Manager informed of problems relating to egg quality, hatchability and chick quality.

* To apply and abide by all aspects of legislation and Company relating to Health and Safety.

* To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc.

* To treat the Broiler Department as customers by polite notification of customers ETA’s, changes to advised times, young flock advice and whole house flock placing.

* To uphold all aspects of hatchery hygiene both Company Policy and Legislation.
