PAS has three key pillars: Reward, Mobility and Workforce Advisory.
The opportunity
The Reward tax team specialises in advising clients on UK PAYE and NIC related issues, assisting clients with compliance to relevant legislation and in the design of policies which deliver benefits for the employee and manage the cost to the employer.
Working in the Reward tax team at EY offers fantastic opportunities to develop client relationships early on in your career. You will be part of a team involved in the day to day delivery of exceptional client service and you will support with the development and management of relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Tax Advisor in our Manchester office, to provide technical and business development support to more senior members of staff, with the longer-term aim of developing into a rounded "tax professional".
Your key responsibilities
Assist in the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and that a practical/business driven approach is taken
Advise clients on core PAYE and NIC issues linked to compliance needs as well as advising clients on one off projects such as employment status, salary sacrifice, company cars, termination payments, National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage, Short Term Business Travellers, due diligences, disclosures, Construction Industry Scheme, etc.
Keep clients up to date on key legislative changes and the impact this will have on their business
Build and maintain key tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service
Assist in winning work by proactively managing existing clients and contribute to winning new projects

A degree of flexibility to meet client /department needs and deadlines

Quick learner; able and willing to carry out a range of client and technical work
Good numerical skills
Strong computer skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages the minimum requirement
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Ideally, you’ll also have
Employment tax experience an advantage
Study support may be available towards the ATT or CTA as applicable
Commercially aware with a general interest in business and tax
Project management skills, plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget
