We are currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper to join Kreston Reeves in Discovery Park, Sandwich.

As Bookkeeper you will process and maintain clients’ records, with preparation of VAT returns and assistance in the preparation of management accounts and analytical reviews. You will also process client bookkeeping and ensure it is completed on time and accurate. Also, you will complete checklists and maintain procedures as well as being able to understand balance sheet control accounts. You will be proactive in a problem solving environment and resolve internal and external issues in a confident and meticulous manner.
This role is based in Discovery Park, Sandwich but the ideal candidate must be willing to travel.
The objectives of the role
To contribute to the provision of an excellent service to a diverse range of clients, providing support to managers and partners, and supervising junior staff.
Along with those responsibilities mentioned above you will:
Be involved with bookkeeping processing and functions
Set up and monitor bank payments on various banking platforms
Monitor deadlines to ensure compliance and Service Level Agreements met
Process and submit VAT returns
Prepare and self review management accounts
Deal with sales ledger functions, ability to chase debts
Credit control functions/Purchase ledger functions
Liaising with, and working closely with, client service accounts teams and direct communication with clients
Build and maintain adequate knowledge within the team of all main bookkeeping software packages.
Quickly understand the ever changing needs of clients and to put in place best practices to assist in implementing these changes
AAT qualified/part qualified, or a recognised bookkeeping qualification
Experience using accounting software preferred such as Xero/Sage/Quickbooks/Twinfield
Ability to multitask
Good communication skills with outstanding customer service skills
Attention to detail
