We are entering an exciting time of growth and change in our Scottish IT and Digital recruitment business and are looking for an experienced Business Development professional to help us build the business and dominate the market.

This newly created job for a Business Development (Key Account) Manager will see you selling a complete portfolio of Products & Services to both new and existing business customers.

Some key aspects of the role will include pro-actively generating leads and converting to sales, working closely with colleagues to identify & source sales leads, identifying opportunities to make recommendations that promote company approved products and techniques, presenting at external meetings representing the Hays brand, managing the penetration of your territory according to an agreed market development strategy and developing new and existing business using effective, appropriate and ethical sales methods.

You will be working to an annual sales budget and, with the support of an office based Recruiter, will aim to generate and fill a volume of vacancies in your technical space.

To support our strategic plan, we are seeking experienced sales account managers who have worked in account management, software/IT sales or recruitment who are looking for a new challenge to further your career.

What you'll need to succeed with us

You will have come from a strong sales background (recruitment or IT sales account management as some examples) and will in turn have a confident approach to business development and able to display that you are adept at dealing with a diverse portfolio of clients.

Core competencies will include excellent written and verbal communication skills, a very high level of computer literacy & accuracy, the ability to build lasting relationships and deliver exceptional customer service and a results-driven approach.

The successful applicant will likely have previous success selling to an end user, a proven track record of consultative selling, evidence of delivering consistent new business and growing existing, and be able to demonstrate effective selling and presentation techniques to influence the customer.
