Business Development Manager
Direct Seafoods London forms part of the Bidfresh Group, a principal British supplier of fresh fish to the catering industry; a national supplier with strong local heritage. The spectrum of our client base reaches from small independents to large national accounts.

The Role:
To manage and grow a territory of existing customers, to generate new business by selling a range of fresh, frozen and chilled seafood products. The new business will account for approximately 80% of your time.
Salary will be dependent on experience in a similar role in Seafood industry. There is also a genrous quaterly bonus dependent on sales figures.
You will also be responsible for managing your own prospect database and ensuring you reach various targets whilst working in partnership with your designated Account Manager to build relationships with key personnel in the branch in order to create a team approach to achieving targets. You will communicate with National Account Managers where necessary, working together to develop a comprehensive understanding of the requirements of group accounts.
You will be required to have a detailed knowledge of accounts by customer and category demonstrated at monthly meetings, be responsible for trading performances and actions of accounts within your territory and be able to use this information to identify potential sales opportunities within our existing customer base.
Key Skills:
The ideal candidate will have exceptional organisational skills, including planning and time management to ensure work is completed in an appropriate, and sometimes tight, time scale to the highest standard, with a keen eye for detail. As you will be customer facing and will be representing Direct Seafoods London, you must have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to anticipate the needs of the customers and have the ability to negotiate and be persuasive. As you will mostly be working independently, you must be reliable and self-motivated. Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, are an essential requirement for the role as you will be required to identify trends from computer generated statistics as well as creating your own databases. Due to the nature of the role, it is expected that you will have a detailed knowledge of the seafood and restaurant industry as well as an understanding of the competition in detail, working with the depot to ensure we overcome any objections
