Business Development Manager - Africa
Location: Swindon with international travel
Salary: £60,000-£65,000 dependent on experience + full access to benefits

Our UK based client is expert in explosive threat mitigation in fragile conflict affected areas globally. By enhancing awareness, locating and defeating devices, identifying and disrupting networks, they enable the security forces, organisations and communities who live, move and operate in these areas, to mitigate the threat.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Business Development Manager - Africa to join their Sales team.

The role will be responsible for leading the growth and development of the company's business portfolio across Africa and will represent the Company professionally and in line with Company values and standards.
The role will also build and maintain a network with the purpose to identify, develop and win business opportunities.

*Build and maintain a professional network that enables opportunities to be identified, qualified, developed and closed in line with Company services and offerings
*Engage across in-country stakeholders, including commercial companies, embassies, national ministries and/or international organisations to identify, build and close commercially viable business opportunities
* Identify and qualify opportunities, lead the Capture process where appropriate and the UK-based Bids team to the point of 'contract win'
*In conjunction with the Head of Programme and Head Office based technical expertise, devise workable and innovative technical concepts and build the offer to the point of business win
*Increase market share in identified markets and maximise profitability within new and extant opportunities
*Achieve assigned business development targets and KPIs
*Attend industry functions, such as events and conferences, and provide feedback on market trends
*Identify, consult with and present to mid and senior level management on market trends, with the aim of developing new services and routes to market that lead to an increase in revenue and profitability
*Ensure that all opportunity data is timely, accurate and effectively managed through the Company's CRM system
*Present a resource budget for annual BD activity and effectively manage this within Company policies and ethical corporate governance guidelines
*Provide BD information to the Head of Programme for Monthly Board Reporting and Monthly Programme Reviews
*Research and maintain a thorough understanding of the Company and Group's people and capabilities
*Maintain and represent organisational culture, values and reputation within selected markets

Security Clearance: Current holder of or be capable of obtaining SC.

Travel Requirements:
*Based in the UK
*Regular international travel essential

Education Qualification Requirements
*Batchelor's Degree Desirable

Experience/Skill Requirements
*Culturally aware throughout Africa Essential
*At least 10 years' experience in UK and International Defence and / or Security Essential
*Strong verbal and written communication skills Essential
*Natural ability to engage in business relationships with individuals and groups Essential
*Customer service orientated Essential
*At least 2 x years' business development experience Desirable
*Intermediate French speaker Desirable
