The Opportunity

Drummond Bridge has been engaged by a successful Scottish business to recruit a Category Lead to join their growing and forward-thinking procurement function. 

Reporting directly to the Senior Procurement Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing long term procurement strategies. 

Responsibilities

As Category Lead you will be tasked with implementing procurement plans to drive and achieve cost savings by managing relationships and leading negotiations with suppliers. You will also be responsible for the following: 


- Ensure all contracts fulfil the Companies statutory obligations, health and safety requirements and relevant policies
- Work closely with all stakeholders to undertake detailed category research
- Manage service level reviews including relevant stakeholders where appropriate
- Draft agreements and contracts
- Co-ordinate activities related to the purchase to pay system
- Manage all existing operational contracts ensuring best value

Who We Are Looking For

To be considered for the category lead role you will be a dynamic and forward-thinking procurement professional with experience of driving cost reduction through a defined group of categories. You will also possess the following: 


- CIPS qualified, or working towards this
- Demonstrable Category Lead experience
- Excellent decision making and communication skills
- Good negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships at senior and executive management levels
- Strong computer skills, particularly Excel and Word
