Overview
The Global Clearing business is a leading provider of Clearing Services for Exchanged Traded and OTC Instruments, as well as Intermediation Services for FX and OTC Derivatives. The business is part of the Equities division within the Corporate and Investment Bank.

J.P. Morgan's Global Clearing Client Service Team has outstanding business, client, product and industry knowledge. The team manages client relationships throughout the lifecycle of the account and is the internal and external point escalation for client issues, working in partnership with Sales and Middle Office teams. Team members understand the client's structure and business model, and define and implement tactical and strategic service and technology solutions that best satisfy their requirements - and maximize product revenue potential. The team reports to the Regional Head of Derivatives Clearing and are the senior client facing staff for the product in the region.

Derivatives Clearing Client Service


The Derivatives Client Service team supports the strategic business growth during this transformational time for the OTC Clearing and F&O markets. The background and experience of the members of the team include credit risk, market risk, trading, capital, pricing, margin, operations and technology. Breadth of experience across multiple roles and asset classes uniquely positions the Client Service team to build a value added relationship. The team is responsible for profitability and wallet share of our client base. Providing ongoing support to clients with respect to margin methodologies, operational workflows, regulatory updates and product enhancements are key responsibilities of the role. The ability to build and maintain client relationships, based on deep knowledge of the product and being able to provide appropriate client solutions are key requirements.

Client Relationship Management

- Responsible for managing profitability of existing clients within assigned portfolio
- In partnership with Sales, ensure that pricing is in line with business potential, objectives, cost of servicing the client and client overall wallet size
- Identify new revenue opportunities within the existing client base, including cross-product opportunities. These are communicated to appropriate Sales and Marketing team
- Communicate existing and future functionality, services and solutions to clients. Undertake in-depth training as required
- Establish and maintain dialogue with client peers and undertake regular (quarterly/annually) client reviews of relationships
- Play a key role in managing client issues in order to prevent client defection, client dissatisfaction and/or revenue loss
- Understand and solve 'complex' client problems and provide long-term solutions for client requirements, manage Change (J.P. Morgan, industry or regulatory driven) with the client base


On-boarding & New relationships:

- Attend client pitches to provide consultative product expertise to close deals where required. Point of contact for Sales during the marketing phase, particularly when faced with questions relating to bespoke requirements, credit or risk-related issues
- Where appropriate, help the Sales agenda by leveraging internal and external sources to create potential leads
- In conjunction with Transition team, define the most appropriate solutions for client asks (e.g. technology, legal, margining, operations, position transfers, collateral, interest, commission, reports, high level timeline).

Provide Product Expertise for Internal Teams:

- Appropriate understanding of our existing and future products, services, systems, flows, support structure and technology, in order to sustain client dialogue and propose recommendations
- Have a clear understanding of industry utilities and standards and best practices. Extensive knowledge of competitor offerings, industry trends, vendor products, market developments, regulatory structure and technology innovations within our businesses
- Strong partnership with Product Owners and input into decision-making process for future investment spend and the strategy of our client-facing products and internal services
- Responsibility for ensuring that client's requirements are serviced at the tactical and strategic levels
- Provide resource to product teams throughout the product development lifecycle (e.g. define business requirements, prioritize, sign off design and functional specs, and participate in UAT and internal pilots)


Key skills and competencies:

- Practical experience of Exchange Traded and or OTC Markets gained either from Sales, Trading, Credit Risk/Market Risk or Operations, ideally across asset classes
- Understanding of Global Futures/exchange traded markets and the regulations applicable to cleared derivatives (e.g. EMIR, Dodd Frank,
- Strong appreciation of risk-related macroeconomic environments
- Ability to understand client portfolio risk and strategy
- Financial and mathematical numeracy
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Relationship management - demonstrable aptitude for maintaining and expanding relationships at different levels
- Self-starter - able to prioritise and manage issues and make risk-adjusted priority calls

T his role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
