FibreNation Limited has an exciting opportunity for a City Communications and Engagement Manager to join a new company which has been formed to deliver game changing full fibre internet services to the UK.
We are changing the way internet connectivity is delivered to homes across the UK with the roll out of Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) connectivity, something the UK lags behind many European countries. FTTH is 100% fibre from the exchange to a customer’s home providing an ultrafast and highly stable connection. FTTH allows communications providers the opportunity to dramatically improve services with Ultrafast reliable full fibre broadband.
TalkTalk Group pioneered the build of a full fibre network in York, providing the UK’s first City-wide ultrafast FTTH network, delivering 1 Gig services to consumers and businesses. TalkTalk’s experience in York, and its ambition to be the UK’s most recommended telco, means that now is the time to accelerate FTTH rollout plans to establish a sustainable strategic position in the UK telco market, creating an asset light smart connectivity provider.
To achieve this, in December 2018 TalkTalk Group launched FibreNation Limited (a TalkTalk Group Company) with the intention to complete the Full Fibre roll out in York and beyond. We are now well on the way to completing a total of 55,000 homes in York and have announced our next three cities and planning even more.
The role will be responsible for Management and execution of communications campaigns into FibreNation’s selected cities to raise awareness of, educate and excite residents and businesses about our full-fibre networks and to support roll-out via our service provider partners.
We are looking for a great communicator with a rounded knowledge of communications through various channels, including traditional print comms, PR, social and events. The role will also involve a small amount of team support and administration work in support of the wider team. An ambitious self-starter who is keen to make their mark in a new organisation.
About the role_
Activities and Deliverables
Creates highly targeted, localised, multi-channel communications during key phases of the network rollout, both pre and during the build in each town/city.
Works with Local Authority, Wards, Parish Councillors and local Councillors around communications and activities to inform and excite local residents about the exciting benefits our full-fibre will bring
Runs hyper-local campaigns and events to engage the local community in the local program
Works with all local stakeholders to raise profile, and maintain reputation, of our brand locally
Manages production and distribution of build communications to all local audiences
Monitors and manages Social Media & PR activity relating to the network build programme
Coordinate activities with our Communications Provider partners to ensure a successful transition to their sales and marketing campaigns
Assistance in administration and support of the wider FibreNation team, including some purchasing and meeting logistics
Must have requirements_
2-3 years experience in running communications programmes, ideally with a local authority or city infrastructure provider
Previous experience in executing multi-channel, communication campaigns to generate leads
Previous experience of management of client or external stakeholder relationships
Excellent copywriting skills with experience in collateral creation
Good organisation and team working skills
Great to have_
Experience of managing events, social media channels and/or PR desirable but not essential
Technical knowledge of the broadband and FTTP industry
