Description

Job purpose:

To provide a fast and efficient claims handling service for various insurers. You will be providing support to policy holders to ensure that they receive quality customer care and support while dealing with claims and enquiries.


Duties and responsibilities:

Correspond with Policy Holders, Clients & Brokers via telephone, email and post.

Administer and validate new claims within a timely manner.

Review data to set up new claims, appoint contractors and to update claims on internal systems.

Review policy wordings to establish if a claim is covered.

Manage and review diaries in a timely manner.

Handle claims in line with client specifications and the appropriate service standards while providing a high level of customer care.

Issue payments to policy holders and suppliers for settlements, within a delegated authority and refer to senior colleagues where this is exceeded.

Actively promote the principles of treating customers fairly (TCF) and operate within Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) guidelines.

All employees are expected to carry out any reasonable instruction given by their senior manager, in line with business requirements

Skills & Experience


5 GCSE’s grade A – C including Maths and English

Willingness to work toward CILA Qualification

IT Literature

Excellent telephone manner

Excellent written and verbal communication

Customer service experience

Ability to work to deadlines whilst prioritising work load

Must be able to multi-task
