A leading NHS organisation is looking to an experienced senior clinician to support the Occupational Health function, advising on strategic OH decisions/guidance and leadership to others.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide clear visible professional advice to managers and employees within the Trust and external clients;
Manage and provide professional leadership to Employee Health and Wellbeing Nurse’s and the wider multidisciplinary team within the Employee Health and Wellbeing department;
Assist other functions within Health and Wellbeing in leading and advancing clinical practice in line with the Department of Health guidelines and legislation;
Provide all aspects of nursing care including consultation, advice, education, testing and immunisations where appropriate and in accordance with patient group directives and departmental protocols. Working in relative isolation and without direct supervision;
Provide written and verbal communication on a range of complex issues. This may include interpretation of legislation, guidance or evidence based practice or may include the preparation of detailed management reports, or presentations;
Lead on the caseload presenting to Employee Health and Wellbeing whether in person or by written referral and initiate management of case;
Ability to fully any employee following a body fluid exposure, undertaking a risk assessment for blood borne viruses and taking appropriate action in accordance with the Department of Health’s guidelines;
Provide health surveillance in accordance with current legislation. To empower Employee Health and Wellbeing Nurse’s to undertake a wider range of clinical activities by ensuring appropriate training, updating and monitoring of relevant training programmes;
A successful candidate will have:

Registered Nurse (1 of NMC Register)
Post registration UK qualification in Occupational Health (Specialist community public health nursing) part 3 of the register;
Evidence of up to date knowledge base of professional and specialist issues;
Extensive post registration experience or equivalent within Occupational Health
