As a Commercial Distribution, Risk Oversight Manager, you'll act as the Risk interface for Distribution within Commercial & Private Banking (CPB) Risk Oversight across all Risk disciplines. Guided by the Head of Risk Oversight, you'll be providing effective day-to-day risk oversight and challenge in respect of how the business generate and preserve sustainable value.

You'll be supporting and enabling product and distribution specific regulatory conduct and compliance for the Commercial business, in their management of and exposures to risk through proactive engagement with the regulators and bank-wide policy owners. You'll also be consulting with and informing the Head of Risk Oversight and other members of the risk oversight teams to design and deploy innovative pan risk strategies that are relevant to the respective area.

In addition, you'll be:

- Supporting the Head of Risk Oversight to provide distribution specific risk oversight, control and challenge to the end-to-end customer journey within the business area with a pan risk lens
- Gathering insight and providing proactive oversight and challenge on risk across the respective customer journeys, product portfolio, distribution or operation, liaising with second line of defence risk specialist teams
- Supporting regular business reviews of material risk and adherence to policy standards and making sure compliance arrangements of the business take into account the core FCA principles, relevant FCA rules, and where appropriate, any EU or global regulations and legislation
- Making sure that policies are adhered to through challenge to executive or senior management and policy standard owners
- Advocating the risk frameworks and providing oversight and challenge to the business adherence to them through the use of data and triggers
- Building a strong level of operational resilience, risk awareness and regulatory compliance within the business The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with a good understanding of the consumer or wholesale financial services sector, specifically SME, commercial and corporate banking risk management with particular knowledge of and experience in the respective area. You'll also need a good understanding of relevant conduct and regulatory compliance aspects of SME, commercial and corporate banking.

You'll also demonstrate:

- Current or recent experience of working in a second line of defence risk function
- A good understanding of the operational risk aspects of SME, commercial and corporate banking
- A good understanding of deploying credit strategies across the credit lifecycle in SME, commercial and corporate banking
- The ability to work collaboratively with and influence senior stakeholders and senior counterparts, including boards and regulators
- Strategic thinking and the ability to simplify complex and conflicting tasks and policy positions, making sure that these are effectively managed and communicated
- Experience of embracing and role modelling Agile capabilities and ways of working How we'll reward you
