Description

The Media Relations team, within the ICR's Communications Directorate, is seeking applicants for a Communications Manager. This role will help deliver a key thrust of the ICR’s communications strategy – to support the ICR’s activities in fundraising and philanthropy.

The successful candidate will be experienced in planning and delivering PR, communications and marketing content designed to support fundraising objectives – and is likely to have worked at a consumer-facing medical charity or in a university with a substantial development or advancement function.

The role will be responsible for overseeing media activities and the creation of communications content to support a major £20m capital appeal for a new drug discovery building, as well as in delivering communications projects more widely in support of the ICR’s fundraising.

The post holder will act as an account manager within Communications for the ICR’s Development Office, and must demonstrate ability to develop and deliver detailed project plans with clear, measurable outcomes in order to meet fundraising objectives. The role will also involve line management and project management of colleagues in Communications.

Appointment will be on a one-year contract in the first instance. Applications will only be accepted through the ICR recruitment website. When applying, please attach a covering letter together with your CV.

We consider all applications on merit and have a strong commitment to enhancing the diversity of our staff.
