Inside Government Conferences are looking for a talented Marketing Assistant and strong team player to join our growing marketing team in our Central London Office. Ideally a graduate or an individual seeking a change from their current marketing role with an interest in the UK public sector.
Established in 1997, Inside Government (IG) is the UK’s leading events company for the Public Sector, running over 200 events per year ranging from large conferences, forums, policy briefings and training courses. The business has over 160 staff based in offices in London, Manchester, Blackburn and Birmingham.
Inside Government consistently deliver innovative, thought-provoking and insightful events specifically for the Public Sector. For over two decades, we have provided unrivalled access to high quality speakers and influential policy makers to provide up-to-date information and strategic insights to enable public sector employees to drive efficiency, change management and work towards key government targets.
The successful candidate will provide key support and assistant to the marketing team; whilst further developing their own skills and attributes to become a more proficient marketer across all channels. Main duties include:
Social Media & Content Marketing: Implement an extensive social media strategy across a range of brands to deliver targeted content that drives lead generation and website traffic
Collaborate: With influencers/associations/speaker organisations to form partnerships through ‘contra’ arrangements that improve product placement and event/brand credibility
Website Design & WordPress: - Using the CMS (Wordpress) and analytics training to help manage the conference websites and implement changes to drive website improvements
Industry monitoring: Monitor and communicate the latest industry news and reports to deliver marketing campaigns and audience insights to be used in future campaigns
General administrative duties
Copy Writing: Using excellent copy writing skills to communicate each event’s USPs with relevant calls to action to drive delegate acquisition and sponsorship sales leads
Digital Marketing: Analyse your campaigns performance and discover areas needing improvement by utilising digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ad words and Email Marketing
Data Driven Marketing: Identify relevant target markets and learn how to create a ‘data universe’ for each event by segmenting the company’s database through job title analysis, market mapping and data build planning.
AFTER 6 MONTHS
After gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company’s operations, marketing principals and the sectors that we operate in, the successful candidate will then work closely with the Head of Marketing to further develop their skills by taking on the responsibility of marketing their own conferences and implement a full marketing cycle. Main duties will include:
2:1 BA degree educated or above, ideally in, but not limited to Marketing and English related degree courses
Sound understanding of marketing principles
Knowledge of digital marketing channels and skills such as SEO/SEM, social media and email marketing
Excellent copywriter with impeccable spelling, punctuation and grammar skills
Must be flexible to adjust in a fast-changing environment
Great team player with an ambitious and positive attitude
A competitive nature and ability to succeed in a targeted environment
6 months to 1 years marketing experience is desirable
An interest in the workings and departments of the UK public sector
Use of Marketing Automation software
Experience in email /digital marketing, preferably in B2B events marketing
25 days holiday rising to 28 with length of service
Birthday day off
37.5 hour week with core hours between (9.30 am - 4pm )
