We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated data analyst to handle real world clinical data in the field of medical microbiology. The successful applicant will work with a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and will report to Professor Tim Peto (NDM) and Dr Sudhir Singh (OUH). You will be supported by a team of software engineers, database programmers and statisticians within the Modernising Medical Microbiology group, within which this post will be located.
To be considered for this position you should have a degree in a numerate discipline (or equivalent professional experience). This post will focus on data management, preparation of data extracts, data analysis and reporting from the data warehouse. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of data management to ensure effective and efficient use of the data warehouse. They will be expected to prepare and critically review the data outputs, and identify and propose solutions to data issues. Additional responsibilities include communication with end users in terms of managing data requests and queries, and assisting users to troubleshoot issues. Training and support will be provided as appropriate and tailored to the individual.
Candidates not meeting all the essential criteria may be appointed on Grade 6 (£28,660 - £34,189 p.a.) depending on skills and experience.
This post is fixed-term for 2 years in the first instance.
