What you’ll do:
Review technical business requirements and proposing designs to meet the customers current and future business needs. Whilst providing ongoing IT consultancy, design, implementation and support services to customers. Produce and present project documentation including design, implementation and testing in line with Cisco standards.
Be part of Cisco’s Customer Experience team to delivery technical outcomes by working closely with customers in their Cloud and Data Centre environments. This involves being part of the technical leadership team providing strategic direction and deep dive into technical issues to ensure that your customers environment is designed, tested, implemented and operated against Cisco standards and guidance to optimize availability and stability.
You’ll be one of the trusted advisors, building a solid, long-term relationship with your customer(s) through providing technical thought leadership in solving customer issues and achieving their business outcome.
Align with and support company policies, processes, and utilizes relevant tools, to effectively execute the role, and support Cisco’s strategies and goals.

The Cisco Customer Experience (CX) team has a great opportunity for a Technical Consulting Engineer (CE). The UK CX team is responsible for critical customer facing roles requiring a unique ability to influence innovation by recognizing gaps in customer capabilities and translating them into technical recommendations that affect business outcomes. Being part of this team will provide you with incredible access to ever-changing technologies, state of the art tools/innovation and automation with a direct line to the Business Unit and Development Engineers that produce the intellectual capital that provides great value to our customers. You will work with a wide virtual team based in a variety of countries within the region with diverse backgrounds. To be able to keep our team as the best technology professionals in the industry, we have established a strong focus on continuous development; you should expect the best in technical and consulting skills training. We also provide our team with the ability to work flexibly to meet not only their customers’ needs but also of their own lives.
Who you are:
- Proven experience and advanced knowledge in the following major areas of: DataCenterdesign and migrations, with experience of Network and Application Centric migrations and being able to communicate their value to the customer.
- Cloud Software design skills, with strong current knowledge of networking fundamentals and good experience in Consulting Services
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Overlay Solutions, Cloud and IT infrastructures plus automation and orchestration implementation. With a clear understanding and ability to communicate the latest market trends as Cisco will continue to partner and form eco-systems to deliver comprehensive solutions to our customer base.
- Hands-on experience with Data Centre technologies such as Nexus, ACI, Hyperflex, Storage solutions
- Self-motivated with solid technical leadership and collaboration skills with excellent written, oral communication and listening skills communication skills to interact with various levels within a customers’ organization
- Advanced degree
- Active Cisco certifications
- Fluent in English
