The Role We are looking for an experienced and savvy Data Engineer to join the analytics team in our Sheffield office. You’ll be responsible for expanding and optimising the data and collection for cross functional teams as well as delivering recommendations for improving efficiencies and reliability.
You’ll be responsible for building the required infrastructure for the optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a variety of sources. You’ll be an expert in the strengths and limitations of different data structures, and successfully assemble large and often complex data assets that will meet the business requirements. You’ll work with stakeholders to assist with their data-related technical issues, so it’s essential that you have a strong background in supporting and working with cross functional teams.
You’ll have proven experience in this field, educated to degree level, with a keen interest in optimising data systems and managing these through to implementation. Exposure to different testing and project management methodologies is essential, and you’ll have considerable experience in a similar Data Engineer or related role with an advanced knowledge of SQL and working with relational databases.
Ideally, you’ll have had exposure to several programming languages and have experience with scripting languages, such as Python and Java. You’ll be commercially aware, and have an up-to-date knowledge of new technologies including any the potential investments that would ensure operational improvements.
