Data Fabric Data Analyst
This role sits within the Data Architecture team for Risk Finance and Treasury (RFT) and specifically with the Data Fabric Data Architecture. The Data Fabric is 2 data lakes housing the RFT data for the Investment Banking activity (Radial) and a separate store for the BUK entity (Global Data Platform (GDP)). The governance and quality of this data is critical to the successful operations of the bank, reducing manual adjustments and ensuring consistency throughout front and back office reporting.
What will you be doing?
Jointly manage Data on-boarding processes for the RFT Data Fabric
Run governance forums across data type owners to track data onboarding processes
Coordinate with CDO (Chief Data Office) to track lineage and critical data elements through the data fabric
Gather requirements for client requests in relation to the RFT Data Fabric and work with development teams and Project Managers to deliver new features.
Track Lineage completeness for data types within the Fabric
Ensure the Data Fabric adheres to the Group Data Standards for data and controls including owning the Trusted Source Assessment process
Maintenance of the Data Fabric SharePoint including feature evolution and data flows
Maintaining and documenting the Data Fabric roadmap and interlocks
Develop the RFT Data Fabric as a product offering within Barclays
What we’re looking for:
Business Analysis, Requirements Gathering and project execution
Experience of working with large data projects
Microsoft Office (including Powerpoint and Visio)
Skills that will help you in the role:
SQL (either in SQL Server or Oracle environments)
ETL Technologies (Ab-Initio or similar)
Data Integration Tools such as Composite, Spotfire etc
Experience of Investment Banking
