The team is responsible for software engineering activities supporting Barclays UK’s Business Banking businesses, which represent a significant proportion of Barclays UK revenue. The technology stack includes Java, JavaScript, React.js & frontend frameworks, Scala and mainframe. The team is currently undergoing a transformation and modernisation to deliver more robust and modern platforms and capabilities, and a microservice architecture.
Your Role
Responsible for software engineering activities to develop highly usable, performant and available technology solutions
Working as part of an Agile team to deliver against a product backlog
Support Engineering Managers to improve delivery processes and continuous integration pipeline
Collaborate with other developers and supply chain technology teams to ensure successful end-to-end delivery
Help create an energetic software engineering team who are passionate about technology, want to deliver the best software, and enjoy the work they do
Essential Skills
A solid understanding of web development, web technologies and web application engineering
Build Tools including – Grunt, Gulp, npm, babel, webpack
Passionate about technology, evidenced through activities such as self-learning, contributions to online communities, GitHub commits, etc
Desirable Skills
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts with clarity.
Demonstrated design and UX sensibilities
Able to influence change and improvement in the way the team develop software.
