Are you about to begin your career in Dietetics or seeking further experience as a Band 5 Dietitian? If so, an opportunity has arisen at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for two rotational Band 5 posts.

We are looking for two enthusiastic and motivated Dietitians to join our forward thinking team of 30 Dietitians, 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioners and 9 Dietetic Assistants. The department is also supported by administration and clerical staff.

Based at either Hull Royal Infirmary or Castle Hill Hospital (including Queens Oncology Centre, a state of the art oncology treatment facility), this post will provide an excellent grounding in general dietetics in the 10thlargest acute trust in England. We offer rotations in neurosciences & neurosurgery, renal, oncology, surgery (including parenteral nutrition), respiratory & critical care and gastroenterology. A full competency led training and support package will be provided to ensure you can develop your clinical skills in as many different areas as you wish to support your career aspirations.

Working alongside Specialist Dietitians, you will have a varied caseload of your own and support our team in the training of B and C placement students. You will also be able to develop and take part in staff teaching and support the team in audit and service developments. We have had the opportunity to present posters and abstracts at meetings such as BAPEN and some of our dietitians have recently had articles published in peer reviewed journals.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals provide a comprehensive range of acute services from two hospital sites with an extended catchment population of 1.3 million people. The department has strong links with the Universities of Hull and York, Leeds Beckett University and with the British Dietetics Association.

Please note that we will consider 2019 graduates for this position and would encourage student Dietitians to apply. Applicants must be HCPC registered Dietitians or due to obtain registration.

Reasonably priced hospital accommodation and help towards the cost of relocation may also be available.

Hull is a great place to live and with a cheap cost of living your money goes further here so you can enjoy the nightlife, music festivals, restaurants, theatres and bars. Hull was the UK’s City of Culture for 2017 and our world class visitor attractions and famous sports teams make Hull a great place to work, play, live and unwind. Hull is a great location with good transport links to Leeds, York, Manchester and London as well as direct ferry services to Europe. Within a 30 minute drive you can be at the beach or enjoying the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds. There are so many places to explore!

Applicants should note that all new appointments to Hull University Teaching Hospitals are subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probation period.
