The Team


The Document Production Operative will form part of the Firm’s secretarial team providing support to all legal and non-legal departments and practice areas.


The Document Production Operative (“DPO”) will have a a wide range of document production, spreadsheet and presentation skills. Fast and accurate typing skills are essential for this role and a willingness to work towards achieving high standards is important. The role requires the ability to perform independently and the flexibility to adapt to any situation. Discretion and initiative are paramount as the DPO may work on material of a highly confidential nature to tight deadlines.


The individual must be able expedite work in a timely manner and maintain a professional demeanour at all times and in all situations. Working as part of team the role requires excellent communication skills.


Responsibilities


Create and amend documents from handwritten mark-ups accurately and in a timely fashion

Create documents and correspondence using Winscribe digital dictation

Create tables, flowcharts presentations to a good standard

Ensure accuracy, format and layout is in line with instruction received

Knowledge of working with house styles

Knowledge of track changes, cross referencing, mailmerges and footnotesStrip and reformat documents

Troubleshoot problem documents and be pro-active in finding solutions and offering advice

Ensure house style is adhered to and promoted on all Fieldfisher documents

Ensure all documents are correctly formatted and stable

Document conversion using Workshare Compare (experience not essential as training will be provided)

Key Skills & Experience


Technical Skills


Advanced Word skills are important for this role as is the ability to produce, format and work with complex and lengthy documents and agreements

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel an advantage

PowerPoint experience desirable, but training will be provided and the successful candidate would be expected to achieve a good standard following training

Fast accurate typing skills (minimum 65 wpm)

Knowledge of Publisher an advantage, but not essential

Skills/Experience


Proven experience within a law firm is required for this role
