Job Applications are invited from suitably qualified educational psychologists for posts within the Psychological Service.

Applicants require Graduate basis for registration with the British Psychological Society and a postgraduate qualification in educational psychology. Registration with or eligibility to register with HCPC, subject to successful completion of the appropriate BPS qualification is required.

North Lanarkshire Psychological Service is one of the largest in Scotland and performs a key function in supporting North Lanarkshire to improve outcomes for children, young people, their families and communities.

The service is looking to recruit innovative, collegiate psychologists who will have the opportunity to participate fully in the work of the service to take forward the ambitious plan for North Lanarkshire.

The Psychological Service operates in 3 teams based in 2 offices across North Lanarkshire. Appointment will be to the service. Remit and office base will be determined in line with Psychological Service needs and priorities.

Post 1 - 35 Hours

Post 2 - 14 Hours (Work Pattern Negotiable)

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.

Teacher/Music Instructor commencing during the academic year.

For any Teacher/Music Instructor who commences employment during the academic year, depending on the date, the teacher may owe the new Authority monies. If the teacher has transferred from another Scottish Local Authority they may have received an inflated final salary payment.

When an employee has a negative balance on starting, the following action will take place:

If the employee has commenced from another Scottish Local Authority, they will have received a balancing payment through that Local Authority’s leaver payment. In these circumstances, the negative balance should be recovered as quickly as possible.

If the employee has commenced and has not joined from another Scottish Local Authority, the negative balance should be spread equally amongst the remaining months of the year. We will inform any employee in this situation before pay day advising them of how the negative balance will be recovered.
