Over the past five years Peckham Springs has transformed a series of empty railway arches in Peckham into a hugely popular destination that includes a bar, galley and several event spaces.
We believe that through the creative use of space it is possible to turn empty sites into popular places that support the local community and enhance the local area.
Our public events programme features everything from live music to flower markets, whilst our private hire schedule encompasses everything from weddings to Christmas parties.
It is a really exciting time to join Peckham Springs as we expand our events schedule with a focus on large scale events. You will be joining a small, independent business with plenty of opportunities to lead exciting projects and deliver amazing events.
We are looking for an events manager to lead our events team as a maternity cover.
The Events Manager is responsible for developing and delivering the private hire and public events schedule at Peckham Springs. This involves marketing and selling Peckham Springs event spaces to a wide range of clients with a particular focus on private events.
We are looking for someone with event management experience who can lead the events process from beginning to end. This will involve generating event enquiries and seeing events through the sales process through to on-site management and delivery on the day and aftercare.
This role will involve a particular focus on developing our private hire business which includes weddings, Christmas parties and private events.
The role will also include:
To use digital marketing channels to generate event enquiries for private hire and public events.
Marketing support to include the creation of a newsletter, social media, website.
Manage the creation and distribution of event marketing material both physical and digital.
Creating and collating photos of events for marketing purposes.
Curate and oversee the targeted marketing of seasonal packages for private hire and public events.
Ensure that third party listing sites are maintained and updated at all times.
Sales and Business Development
Proactive business development activity to drive revenue into the venue on a daily basis from small scale personal bookings to large scale corporate clients.
Ensuring sales targets and budgets are achieved.
To identity key partners and clients and build successful relationships.
Responding to event enquiries in an effective and timely manner.
Producing quotes and negotiating prices with clients.
Client account management including effective follow up.
On-site management of events to include evenings / weekends.
Maintain and develop existing partnerships with event companies and partners.
Ensure all events are delivered to the highest possible standard from a client and guest perspective.
Pre-event coordination to include liaising with clients, coordinating food traders, assisting in bespoke menu creation and sourcing music and entertainment where required.
Event organisation to include liaising with the rest of the Peckham Springs management team to ensure events are delivered successfully.
Finance and Admin
To compile weekly financial reports and present to the directors including sales reporting and operating costs.
To assist with invoicing and credit control where required.
experience in a sales or events role in the hospitality industry essential.
Proactive / self-starter
Excellent people skills, confident talking to clients.
Willing and capable to quote and negotiate.
Ability to manage all aspects of a project and relationship management.
Positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to think laterally and willing to problem solve.
experience and knowledge of food and drink would be advantageous.
