Our client is a global leader in FMCG manufacturing within their industry. As a market leader in their field, they are looking to stay ahead of the curve within the manufacturing environment and as such, are looking for a skilled Factory Manager to drive the business forward at their Peterborough location.

My client is a global FMCG manufacturing business currently investing in their sites efficiency and performance improvement. The Peterborough site's existing management team have been key in delivering leading brand and high quality products; they are now looking to take the site factory performance to a higher level of success. As a global company, they are keen to have best practices and most importantly the best people on board.


The growing business are looking for a successful Factory Manager to operate a £40+ million factory on site. This individual must show a track record of empowering and leading a team of 100+ individuals, whilst providing support and training. As the Factory Manager the job will include but not limited to:

- Ensure the appropriate performance indicators and review mechanisms are in place to drive departmental performance

- Ensure all manufacturing and production teams manage the production of material in to finished product to deliver line utilisation targets and production schedules

- Championing and driving the reinforcement of continuous improvement methodologies and ideas among st manufacturing personnel

- Ensure all shift teams manage the effective and timely completion of the maintenance plan

- Utilise the input and the expertise of the other departments (Engineering, Production and QESH) to drive the production performance

- Create and control the budget and that resources are deployed to ensure manufacture of finished product to deliver the site production plan

- Target cost reductions through more efficient manufacturing processes and minimisation of overtime

- Ensure best practices are shared and replicated with other departments and colleagues (internal and external) to improve production performance, yield, quality, safety and environment

- Create and encourage an engaging environment that drives a continuous improvement and high performing team


The Successful applicant will be responsible for the entire Factory team, they will ideally have:

- Ideally a recognised Engineering qualification, HNC/HND (Desirable degree)

- Well-developed people skills essential

- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, ability to talk to and involve personnel at all levels

- Worked in a FMCG Manufacturing environment

- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, report information/findings, develops recommendations and implement changes

- Strong leadership with proven ability to gain strong results through a team

- Self-starter with drive and initiative to meet and exceed demanding objectives

- Fluent and creative problem solver

- Able to behave positively and proactively with challenging priorities

- Desirable if the individual has Lean Manufacturing experience/Six Sigma qualification
