Virgin Media are currently on the lookout for a Finance Business Partner which is part of the Consumer Finance division to join us here in Hammersmtih.


What’s the purpose of this role?


Proactively manage the Financial Planning & Analysis processes and controls across the Consumer (Cable

& Mobile) Finance team

Understand and digest the complexity of the consumer financial performance. Present, distil and succinctly

message a complex story up to Exec levels in both VM and LG

Challenge business assumptions in forecasting and planning, using analysis and past performance as

validation methods

Act as the point of contact with Group Finance, build strong relationships, ensuring alignment on group

(VMUKIE and LG) processes whilst managing the impact on the consumer finance team

Support the Consumer Finance Director / Head of FP&A in ad hoc analysis requests, including production, coordination and delivery of urgent requests

Demonstrates ability to present solutions rather than just issues. Initiate and deliver change across both the financial and operational processes across VM

What does the job entail?


As a Finance Business Partner you would be responsible for a number of key activities including a few of the following:


Lead the consolidated month end process. Use key driver analysis to clearly articulate the

complexity of the financial performance, distil and succinctly message for Exec, Consumer

Leadership Team, Group FP&A and Financial Reporting teams

Coordinate the consolidated budget, LRP and reforecast processes across the Consumer

Finance team

Provides robust and detailed interpretation of Financial Analysis to enable business areas to

make key decisions and achieve targets. Identifies actions to drive opportunities and mitigate

risks.

Challenge business assumptions in forecasting and planning, using analysis and post

implementation review learnings. Apply wider LG/VM context to all decision-making. Prepared

to voice an opinion and be part of discussions at a senior stakeholder level, even if outside

specific remit

Reviews and provides input into strategic financial plans in partnership with business leaders

Prepare ad hoc analysis as required by the Executive Committee, Consumer Leadership

Team and Finance Leadership Team

Builds working relationships with internal stakeholders (Operational to EC level), coordinating

across the finance function

Identify solutions and deliver process improvements, present solutions rather than just issues

Provide strategic thinking and execution with a future focus but with an understanding of the

past.

Build and develop effective relationships with the key customers of the role (Consumer

Finance, Group FP&A, Financial Reporting)

Help to facilitate clear and effective communication to the consumer finance community,

working closely with Group FP&A to ensure requirement/deadlines are fully understood
