Description

A major fintech firm, city based are looking to hire a financial accounting manager for 12 months FTCWe are looking for a Financial Accounting Manager to join our team on a Fixed Term Basis for 12 months. It is for someone who has worked in financial services or a banking environment but is looking to join a growing bank which is challenging the market and doing things differently. This role will be responsible for all financial accounting and reporting activities and apply finance best practice when building sustainable accounting processes and controls to support the growth of the business


Core Responsibilities:


- Financial Accounting
- Responsibility for delivery of monthly, quarterly, half yearly and year end reporting
- Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported
- Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and accounting treatments
- Responsible for maintaining up-to-date process and procedure documents and policies
- Support the delivery of statutory accounts
- Ensuring the integrity of the financial statements, including, but not limited to: preparation and processing the journals, consolidation of group accounts, P&L analytical review, Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations, impairment reviews and fixed asset audits
- Point of contact for external advisors, internal and external auditors and internal stakeholders
- Preparation of VAT and other tax or regulatory related returns within deadline
- Liaising with FP&A, project and other teams to ensure efficient communication flow and appropriate accounting entries are recorded


- Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Responsible for the timely and accurate recording and payment of supplier invoices
- Capturing supplier data as required and entering accurately into accounting system, adhering to necessary controls
- Ensuring that customer invoices are processed and timely collection of funds
- Management of the weekly supplier payment runs
- Review and preparation of ageing creditor and debtor reporting and payment practices and performance reporting
- Ensuring adherence to company’s budget and authority limits
- Payroll
- - Support HR team to reconcile and transmit accurate payroll information to third party supplier on timely basis
- Reconcile payroll and validate financial and operational reporting


- Operational Excellence
- Review current processes and oversee implementation and development of systems and internal controls to required standards
- Liaising with internal teams and external vendors to develop accounting system in line with “best in class” ethos
- Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to
- Reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required

Core Skills:


- Proven experience within a Financial Accounting Manager position, preferably in a banking services environment
- Strong financial systems experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Technical knowledge gained from an audit background
- Track record of delivering financial reporting under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast moving and ever-changing environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
