We currently have vacancy for an Gas Metering Technical Manager


Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the National Field Management Team as Gas Metering Technical Manager to develop and manage all aspects of the Gas Smart Metering systems, processes and assets across the UK. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in Gas Metering, and the SMART rollout. A detailed regulatory understanding, process experience and IT literacy are pre-requisites.


Key areas of responsibility include:

Provide guidance on compliance with Gas Regulations, as well as Technical Support to all Staff, Management and Technicians.

Establish Safe Systems of Work, and lead on Quality Management and Audit processes with Management Team and Technicians.

Prepare, plan and deliver Safety Bulletins and updates across the Gas Team.

Preparation of documentation to obtain ISO, Gas Safe, MAMCoP and AMICoP Accreditation, and any other pertinent standards

Maintenance and management of the Accreditation portfolio in accordance with the requirements and schedules stipulated

Deal with Gas Safe Registrations for both new and current employees’

Define, arrange and manage training for all Technicians

Deal with all complaints, Health & Safety incidents, dangerous occurrences, incident reporting, investigations and disciplinary matters

Deal with Health & Safety consultant visits both in house and on-site reviewing procedures method statements & risk assessments.

Gas Technician recruitment, including interview, training, induction and mentoring, as well as off-boarding as required.

Maintain Calibration of all Gas related test equipment, keeping records and arranging equipment transfer


Person Spec:

Customer focused, and able to identify and respond to customer’s needs, both internal and external

Excellent time management, mobility & flexibility and good problem solving skills

Ability to manage ambiguity, and deal with rapidly changing priorities.

MOCOPA Accreditation and IGEM Membership (Any Level)

Gas ACS Qualifications CCN1/CMA1 & MET1 – For installation at U6 Volumes

Extensive management experience within a remote field working environment

Experience in Dual Fuel Smart Metering Installation and thorough understanding of industry compliance

Excellent IT skills and knowledge of multiple operating platforms, including scheduling software

Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines with the ability to be organised, methodical and to prioritise accordingly
