Description

Graduate Programme (Fixed Term – 8 months)
Base - Various
Scottish Local Government Living Wage - £9.07

Our Council is committed to the economic development of Dumfries and Galloway and recognises that a Graduate Experience Employment Programme can play a significant role in realising this objective.

We are also facing significant budget savings and to address these, we must re-examine our services to decide on what we need to continue providing, ways we can transfer delivery to communities and other partners and what we are simply no longer able to offer.

The Transformation Programme is in place to deliver a modern council over the next four years whilst reducing its budget gap.

Consequently, we are seeking to recruit 5 Graduates in different roles across the council to support this programme. These projects are designed to provide you with a structured and valuable work experience related to your recent degree studies, which will enhance your skills and experience and increase your future employability.

Please see www.myjobscotland.gov.uk for details on how to apply. You will be asked to identify the projects you are most interested in.

The Graduate posts are offered on a fixed-term basis for a period of 8 months, during which you will take ownership of a specific piece of work focusing on transformational activities within our Council. In return you will be offered a range of learning, development and networking opportunities as well as dedicated mentoring and coaching to support your development.

Projects for this year's Programme are:

1. Climate Change
2. Placed Based Economic Development
3. Social Work Services Transformation
4. Digital Services
5. Community Strategy
