Description

This role is being advertised by Fide Careers, who are offering pro bono / no-fee access to candidates for a particular client for a place on their graduate scheme, undertaking CIMA or ACCA training contract.

There is little doubt the competition for Graduate roles for aspirational accountants is pretty fierce. If you fit the academic criteria of this role, are absolutely focussed on a career in Accountancy then we'd love to hear from you.

The latter point is really important. Having been a graduate myself, coupled with the ease of access to job adverts online, it is tempting to just mass apply even though it may not be a sector you want to work in.

The screening and interview process will have a strong element of rigour as it is important for the client to know that the person in front of them can clearly articulate why they want a career as an Accountant.

About the client:
I've personally recruited for them for over 14 years. I also recruited the hiring manager. So it's safe to say I know them better than most. A company that has a dominant market position, this role is sat in its head office in West Yorkshire which has a very large, hugely talented and experienced finance function.

Role:
The role will give you some exposure that is arguably better than many graduate roles, especially if someone is looking for a focus as much on the commercial/strategy side of finance as well as learning about the month-end process. Over the course of your training contract, you will get exposure to supporting the monthly management accounts process, reporting, commercial finance, market and competitor analysis and much more.

Criteria:
- Graduate. Minimum 2.1 / 1st
- All As and Bs at A Level / GCSE (we can all have a bad day at the office, so a miss-step here is not the end of the world)
- Placement year / Internship? While not essential it would definitely give you an edge.
- A clear desire to want a career in finance

This is a role to not miss out on. If you are a recent graduate (2018/2019) we'd love to hear from you.
