Head of Commercial FinanceHead of Commercial finance role based in Greater London

My client offers modern offices within a growing business, that is one step ahead of its competitors and the market in general. They are looking for a Head of Commercial Finance that can help lead the way for commercial finance.

The role

- As a member of my clients senior leadership team, work closely with their COO providing high level financial, commercial and strategic input, helping to drive the development of a growing business


- Provide clear, accurate and timely reporting to senior management, ensuring alignment of expectations and consistent communication at all levels of the business


- Take ownership of the business plan and budget, ensuring models are up to date and accurate.

- Ensure the business plan is appropriately documented and communicated, and work with stakeholders to ensure consistency with their corporate objectives and business plan


- Lead the monitoring and analysis of business performance; Identifying risks and opportunities, continuously monitoring key performance indicators and identifing business trends


- Build and improve the capabilities and processes within the finance team to create a customer led Business Partnering function through regular reviews


- Oversee management and financial accounting; Maintaining rolling cash flow and profit forecasts for all aspects of the business.


- Lead the business capex appraisal and approval process. Ensuring all capex proposals are thoroughly reviewed and challenged and are financially justifiable prior to submission for approval


- Continuously improve processes to ensure the best-in-class customer service and management information


- Responsible for ensuring financial processes and compliance within the business


The candidate

- Strong educational background, including a degree from a reputable University
- Qualified accountant
- Experienced in partnering with Board or Senior Leadership teams
- Demonstrated ability to understand business drivers and use that understanding to drive performance
- Experience of upgrading or improving systems for these purposes, ideally within a fast-growing business.
- Can own commercial questions and autonomy and ability to own to solution and recommendation
