Bankton Primary School is a non-denominational school serving the communities of Dedridge and Adambrae in Livingston South. The school provides for both nursery and primary children from 3 -12 years old and is an integral part of The James Young Cluster of schools. The present role is 80 in Nursery and 300 in Primary.
Bankton Primary School is currently staffed by a Headteacher, Depute Headteacher, Principal Teacher and 11 Class Teachers from P.1 – P.7. The forty place Nursery Class is staffed by an Early Years Officer and 3 Nursery Nurses. The Nursery is currently line managed by the Depute Headteacher. There are specialist teachers in P.E. and Music. Instrumental tuition is provided from P.5 in Brass and Bagpipes.
The school benefits from extensive support for learning activities from a Support for Learning Teacher and Pupil Support team.
Class teachers are regularly up skilled with high quality CLPL on meeting a range of needs in their classrooms. There are also flexible Nurture arrangements in place for pupils who require this level of support. Professional Learning is a continuing priority in the school with well-established teacher leadership contributing to school improvement.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.
The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18. The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3 month period byrepayment schedule. If your employment concludes before the amount is re-paid in full, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary.
