Purpose of Position

To make Brenntag a safer place to work through the prevention of accidents and injuries.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

- Recording, updating and analysing the safety management system to ensure all accidents and incidents are correctly reported and thoroughly investigated
- Identify trends and root causes which influence changes to policies and procedures
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation to be able to providing advice on their interpretation and adoption into Company policies & Procedures
- Provide H&S training and advice to sites (adhoc to customers)
- Conduct Risk Assessments and Safety Audits
- Communicating H&S information to continually drive awareness
- Continual review / revision of Personal Protective Equipment register for effectiveness and liaising with suppliers to ensure good service to depots
- Chairing the Head Office Health & Safety Committee Meeting
- Deputising for Head of Compliance / Technical Compliance Team Manager Qualifications Required (Essential & Desirable)

- Degree in Chemistry or significant experience in a technical/scientific role
- Health & Safety qualification – NEBOSH certificate working towards Diploma Experience & Knowledge (Essential & Desirable)

- Experience of working in a Health & Safety Role, preferably within the chemical or associated industries
- A good practical working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft packages eg Excel, Word & PowerPoint Personal Skills & Attributes (e.g. Team Player, Strong Work Ethic)
