Description

It’s an exciting time to join us: KMPT has been rated Outstanding for Caring and Good overall in our most recent CQC inspection in March 2019!

Would you like to be part of a forward thinking progressive service?

The evolution of a therapeutic approach to staffing has led to a number of new positions which will enhance and shape care provision through a dynamic, effective and exciting multidisciplinary model.

Kent and Medway’s Older Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient wards provide excellent environments for the delivery of numerous specialist assessments, treatments and interventions. The integration of psychological, occupational, nursing and medical staff working in tandem will also cultivate an atmosphere of learning for the whole team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Woodchurch Ward based at Thanet Mental Health Unit. This inpatient setting provides a 24-hour service, with a three-shift system in operation and all staff are expected to work the full rotation of days and nights.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team, working with a needs-led patient group of mostly Older Adults who have a wide range of mental health needs and a primary diagnosis of mostly functional mental illness with sometimes a dementia. You will enjoy working at a challenging pace, and will be self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic. You will need to be able to function as part of a team and have an interest in initiating therapeutic engagement with the service users. Your approach must be person-centred, placing the patient at the centre of all decision making.

Our goal is to achieve quality through partnership and create a dynamic system of care where people receive the right help, at the right time, in the right place - with the right outcome.

Our promise to you as a new recruit is that we will provide you with the following:

- Career development with our comprehensive range of training & development opportunities to enhance your skills
- Strong Supportive Management committed to provide 1-2-1 support to advance personal development.
- Experience of working with a specialist patient group
- Car Lease Scheme open to all staff
- National and Local NHS Discounts for employees and their families
- Relocation Support if you are moving to the area dependent on your circumstances
- 35 days paid holiday, increasing to 41 days after 10 years’ service
- NHS Pension scheme
- Child Care Vouchers

This post is subject to a six month probationary period for candidates external to the Kent and Medway NHS Social Care and Partnership Trust.

Employment in this post is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service
