The post is internal and open to employees of Renfrewshire Council only. Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley. This post offers an exciting opportunity to support young people to improve their educational outcomes. Renfrewshire’s Home Link Service is a well regarded service offering a range of innovative supports to children, young people and their families. Reporting to the area Home Link Senior, and working closely with Home Link Workers and school staff, you will provide additional support to those pupils at secondary school level and during primary to secondary transition who, due to social, emotional and behavioral difficulties, are at risk of exclusion from school. Working in partnership with schools and interagency colleagues to implement GIRFEC you will assist with the support of identified pupils in school as part of an agreed child’s plan. You will have experience of working within an education or community setting and of working with children and young people experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties. Experience of group work, home visiting and behaviour support strategies would be advantageous. You will work well as part of a team and have effective interpersonal and communication skills. You will also be an enthusiastic, positive and resilient person. You will be highly motivated, tactful, insightful and non judgemental with a genuine commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children and families. While qualifications are not essential, it would be advantageous if you possessed an SVQ level 3 or equivalent. It is desirable to be computer literate with a creative approach to problem solving and a knowledge of GIRFEC approach. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
