NHS Shetland IT, Information and eHealth department is looking for an individual to lead on its strategic and operational information services requirements.

NHS Shetland utilises extensive clinical and business management information systems to safely and effectively deliver services. Ensuring that data quality is maintained and all information is securely managed is key to delivery.

Applications are invited from individuals with experience in providing analysis, reporting and management of healthcare information assets. Candidates will also have experience in managing staff and overseeing a busy team.

This is an exciting time as NHS Shetland has recently launched the Health and Social Care Portal which provides clinicians across the North of Scotland access to an integrated digital view of a patient's health and social care data through a new web-based portal presenting clinical data.

Success of this programme is a significant step towards all-encompassing electronic health and social care processes. The effective management and analysis of NHS Shetland’s data is a vital component of this transformation and the successful candidate will play a key role in transforming the use of information to shape and improve services and ensure services are sustainable
