It’s an exciting time at Barclays. The portfolio for the Remediation Customer Services is expanding and we are looking for an Internal Communication Manager to join us. This role is initially on a 6-month contract based at our offices in Canary Wharf, London. You will be responsible for the communications plan and communications required for the PPI Decommissioning programme. You will work alongside the Employee Engagement Manager to deliver the programmes communication strategy and plans ensuring all communications are linked to the programmes objectives and deliverables.  You will need to plan, edit and write communications for a variety of mediums such as e-mail, SharePoint and Line Manager briefings ensuring that communication messages are accurate, timely, relevant, engaging and consistent.

This role has a full time working pattern, initially on a 6-month contract with possibility of extension. Dynamic working gives everyone at Barclays the opportunity to integrate professional and personal lives.  If you have a need for flexibility then please discuss this with the Hiring Manager

What will you be doing?
Work alongside the project team to deliver the programmes communication strategy, including planning writing and delivering key communications
Develop a deep understanding of the projects strategic goals, performance and audiences, and translate that knowledge into clear and compelling communications
To provide support to the programme to identify needs for communication and work with the project team to ensure responses to queries are dealt with
Developing and leading on the communication means including SharePoint, emails, power point packs Line Manager Cascade packs
 Working directly with the project team to ensure timely responses to escalations and issues
Provide clear and timely reporting on the communications plan and responses.
Collate and respond to questions raised by Colleagues
Ensure all work is signed off and agreed prior to cascade

What we’re looking for:
Excellent communication skills, including extensive vocabulary, knowledge of spelling, grammar, proof reading and a great eye for detail
You will be an experienced internal communication specialist with a proven track record
You’ll have a flair for writing and excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels
You’ll be familiar with internal communication approaches, plans and strategies 
You will be an excellent organiser, self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and prioritise effectively
Highly customer focussed with the capability to work to tight and challenging deadlines in a dynamic environment
Strong project and internal communication skills
The ability to write engaging, accurate communications with the ability to identify reputational risk in relation to the communications produced 
Thinks creatively and solves problems within tight deadlines

Skills that will help you in the role:
·         Experience of working in a communications role
·         Strong written skills to produce engaging and accurate content including outstanding editing, proofing and distribution of messages with a keen eye for detail / accuracy
·         Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisation skills
·         Ability to work at pace
·         Able to remain cool, calm and collected and maintain a sense of perspective
·         Stakeholder management skills, including negotiation and influencing
·         Understanding and managing relevant risk, governance, legal, compliance and control issues
