Lecturer: Salary from £35,253 to £42,996 per annum (inclusive of London Allowance)
or
Senior Lecturer: Salary from £41,520 to £52,227 per annum (inclusive of London Allowance)

Full time (35 hours per week)

Location: Aldgate Site (Calcutta Building)

The Foundation Course is the common starting point for progression to the wide range of BA’s at the Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design. Foundation tutors work as a team to provide a course of first choice for a diverse range of students. Working together in spacious studios and with the excellent resources in making-workshops, digital media, specialist equipment, dark rooms, scanning and print facilities at the Cass, there is strong support for individuals to develop towards specialism within a wide range of creative practices.

ABOUT THE POST
We are looking for either a Lecturer or a Senior Lecturer who is a highly-motivated and connected learning and teaching innovator: able to teach and contribute to academic duties at level 3. We are specifically looking for a candidate to take on the role of Foundation Course Tutor to devise new learning opportunities for Art and Design students and to forge new relationships with external partners.

The post holder will be responsible for developing, delivering and managing teaching and learning across level 3 of undergraduate provision. The post holder will provide a supportive learning environment for students by contributing flexibly to teaching and related activities at undergraduate level and will design and develop teaching material, acting as module leader & course tutor where appropriate, design assessment activities and contribute to recruitment and other administrative duties.

Applicants should have experience of teaching and research interest in Art and/or Design areas and would ideally either have or be working towards a professional qualification in teaching and learning in higher education.

Applications are welcomed from people who are active in research (Senior Lecturer) and able to conduct research or have interest in conducting research (Lecturer) and contribute to high quality of teaching at undergraduate level.
