Laboratory Team Leader
Salary - £30,000 - £37,000 (dependent on experience) plus exceptional benefits

We are looking to recruit a Team Leader into the Product Assurance Department, reporting into Global Product Assurance Manager. In this role you will be directly responsible for the Consumables and Packaging Laboratory in Basingstoke. The role requires collaboration both inside and outside of Mars Drinks, due to involvement in governance and project activities. Not only does this provide a breadth of knowledge in the role, but by leveraging this network allows an opportunity to shape the future state within the laboratory.
In this role, you will:
Work collaboratively with R&D to deliver risk based testing against product validation plan
Lead product verification protocols as required during innovation phase
Direct and perform technical testing following the Product Assurance process
Drive engagement of the laboratory team and manage their development
Present via peer reviews or reports results of product testing to internal customers
Make recommendations to project team on technical solutions to improve quality of new products
Act as a technology scout and acquire relevant technology to drive efficiencies and effectiveness
Identify and recommend improvements to testing protocols and ways of working
Maintain Mars Laboratory Quality Standard
Continuous improvement activities: Initiate, lead and manage projects designed to optimise laboratory capabilities, performance and costs, while adhering to mandated laboratory standards
To do this role, you will need:
Be proactive in recommending/taking actions to solve technical issues
to improve ways of working
In depth analytical skills and statistical expertise
Proven experience in working in a laboratory environment
Preferred degree level in a scientific subject
