Description

The Trustee Board of Latchmere Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a Trustee with Primary Education experience, and would welcome the skills and experience of people from our community.

Based in South West London, the Trust compromises Latchmere School in Kingston Upon Thames, and Nelson Primary School in Twickenham.

As a member of the Latchmere Trust Board, you will work together with the Board and Headteacher to ensure the highest possible education standards are delivered to pupils of the Trust. This will include using your Primary Education experience to help set and shape policy and strategy, ensuring funding is used for maximum impact, and keeping all stakeholders accountable to ensure the best interests of the students are the highest priority. Trustees are also in place to question and challenge the schools leaders on the standards and educational performance, with a view to ensuring continuous improvement.

The Trustee Board meets every half term, lasting around 2 hours - the group is welcoming, interactive, and share similar values, all aimed at making a positive contribution to the Trust.

In return for your Primary Education experience, you will learn about the inner workings of a school and the strategy behind the daily execution in the classroom. This post would be particularly useful if you had ambitions to pursue a path in leadership, wanted exposure to a different setting - with a good/ outstanding ofsted rating, or wanted to utilise your education experience more fully.

Trustees volunteer at their pleasure, so if you're interested, we'd love to hear from you.

Please send applications directly to Sarah McCarthy, Chair of Trustees smccarthy@latchmereschool.org
