Description

REED Education are working in partnership with an supportive alternative education provider across ages 4-18 who are looking to recruit for confident Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants for Primary and Secondary aged students.

The position will be as a Teaching and Learning Support Assistant working with Primary and Secondary aged students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs as well as very challenging behaviour.

When I visited the school in May 2019…

The school was calm, relaxed and well facilitated. The students were in lessons working hard towards their SAT's and A-Levels (from the Primary and Secondary classes I briefly observed). The Headteacher was leading a Science revision group to which I was really impressed at some of the answers coming from the students in the room.

Walking around the school I got a great feel for the way the school is run and the clear high expectations of the Headteacher which shows in even the day-to-day running of the site. The TA's I spoke to were happy doing what they were doing and all seemed calm and relaxed as well.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with social and emotional mental health needs and be a calm and resilient personality.

If you are looking for a position in a school that leaves this impression on its visitors please get in touch, I am currently working with them to introduce new Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants ready for the remainder of this term and leading into the new academic year in September 2019.

Team Teach training is ideal but not essential.
