A rare and fantastic opportunity has arisen at our successful, modern dealership at W R Davies Ford, Llangefni. We are currently looking to recruit an Apprentice Service/ Body Technician.
The Apprenticeship is geared toward training the next generation of fully-fledged Light Vehicle Service Technicians.
Light Vehicle Service Technicians service and repair light vehicles such as cars up to 3.5 tonnes. Technicians are trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features.
The duties of a Light Vehicle Service Technician may include:
- Servicing vehicles – carrying out checks and maintenance according to the manufacturers’ guidelines
- Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
- Advising the Service Receptionists about required repairs
- Producing time estimates
- Maintaining repair and service records

W R Davies are ideally looking for an Apprentice or a candidate that already has a Level 2 in Motor Vehicle Repair or the equivalent BTEC, and is interested in a career in the motor trade.
A typical working week could be 40 hours Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm.
Apprentices will be required to work the minimum apprenticeship duration of 30 hours per week. At least 20% of your working hours will be allocated to 'off-the-job' training. We'll support you to understand the working hours during the recruitment process.
Apprentices must be 16+ years, and have achieved four GCSE grades A – C (new grades 9 – 4) or equivalent qualifications in English, Maths and two other subjects or have Light Vehicle Repair Level 2
The wage is dependent on your age, however, the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour.
This applies to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
