Male Support Workers - Guyhirn, Wisbech Cambridgeshire
We are looking for 2 Support Workers, 1 Full time working 37.5hrs and 1 Part Time working 25hrs per week to join us at our new Supported Living Service in Wisbech at £9.00 ph.
You will be supporting a male service user who has challenging behaviour so experience is essential.
You will be providing practical and emotional care, enabling him to lead as ordinary life as possible.
You will need to be flexible as you are required to work shifts including bank holidays, weekends and sleep ins.
This service is remote so you must be able to drive and you must be willing to work alone
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To participate in the day-to-day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.
To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and other whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality
To support service user with the preparation of meals, laundry duties, cleaning
Taking the service user to appointment and social events
To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required
To work as part of a team that provides high quality care
The successful candidate will have previous experience in support work specifically with people with Challenging Behaviour, Learning Disabilities and Physical disabilities
The Successful Candidate for the role will have:
Full clean driving licence is essential
NVQ in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards.
Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
The ability to keep calm under pressure.
Confidence to work alone.
Excellent communication skills.
The passion to work with vulnerable Adults.
The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
