Opportunity

Our client are a not-for-profit organisation based in Sunderland. Due to high levels of growth, an exciting new opportunity has been created for an experienced Management Accountant. Working as part of a close knit team, the successful candidate will provide support to the Finance Manager in the provision of timely and accurate financial information to all business stakeholders to allow informed decision making and to provide assurance.

The role will include ensuring robust financial controls and processes are identified, implemented and adhered to, thereby ensuring business compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities


- Preparation of Management Accounts
- Support the Finance Manager with preparation of the annual budgets and forecast process
- Monitoring and reporting expenditure against budget
- Day to day responsibility for procurement
- Identify and explore sustainable cost savings for all business areas
- Provide support for the monthly payroll submission
- Provide finance support to ensure compliance in line with NHS pension guidelines
- Property costs, reconciling costs and reimbursements in line with contractual agreements for all business properties
- Work with the finance team to identify and implement a finance system to support the growing needs of the business
- Provide support and mentor Finance Assistant when required
- Provide support in development, documentation and implementation of robust financial processes and policies

Criteria

To be considered for this role you must have;


- UK driving licence with the ability to travel between various locations
- Minimum of 4 years' experience of working in a Finance role
- Previous experience of assisting in the preparation of Management Accounts and Budget preparation
- It would be preferred if you held a recognised AAT qualification or are or sufficiently qualified by experience
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong IT skills with the ability to maintain spreadsheets with competent in use finance system
