Role Definition

The job holder delivers financial analysis for both Business Unit and Group reporting purposes and provides detailed and accurate information to support effective decision making and performance management. The job holder acts as subject matter expert on the new Group financial reporting system. The job holder is responsible for ensuring that their activities comply with Group policy in order to achieve targets, meet monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines and assist with the development of the business and deliver an excellent and comprehensive service.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Systems


- Production of monthly management reporting information to a strict timetable for multiple business units within the Group.


- Development work on budgeting and accounting systems.


- Continuous development of reporting solutions.


- Maintenance of Accounting processes including statutory and management Accounts, in-house reports, budget forecasting, and regulatory returns in multiple jurisdictions.


- Processing of recurring charges.


- Ad-hoc management reporting and financial analysis.


- User acceptance testing (UAT) of the new Group reporting system


- Parallel running of monthly reporting with reconciliations to the existing reporting system,


- Training of team members


- Ad-hoc maintenance (adding new nominal codes, cost centres etc.)


Management


- The job holder may be required to supervise or mentor other staff in order to develop their technical knowledge.


Clients


- Develop strong relationships with the Business Units, Suppliers & Markets


- Respond to the Business Units’ requirements as appropriate


- Behave with all clients (both internal and external) fairly and ethically


Administration


- Ensure up to date records are kept on computer systems


- Oversees the completion of comprehensive technical documents relevant to job role ensuring processes and procedures are accurately documented


Skills and abilities needed to perform role


- MS Office Literate (advanced Excel - nested vlookups, data manipulation, pivot tables etc.)


- Flexible and able to quickly adapt to change

- Good organizational skills and communication skills (written and verbal)


- Able to work in a high pressure environment


- Report Writing Skills


Knowledge & Experience


- Technical knowledge of financial reporting under UK accounting standards


- MS Office Literate (advanced Excel - nested vlookups, data manipulation, pivot tables etc.)


Professional Qualifications


- Strong A levels or equivalent (likely to be degree educated)


Salary: £38 - £43K Plus 10% Pension Contribution
