Role Summary:

This role is to control and update the 'Manufacturing Document' for all product and part drawings, BOM's, routings, along with all manufacturing specifications and documentation. As part of the Production Engineering group, this role will also create and maintain production process documentation within the MAGIC System and product and routing data within the Oracle system.


Essential Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

Part of the team that controls and updates all Manufacturing Documentation, including both Product and Process Documentation, across the different manufacturing areas within the Cardiff Facility.

Carry out required tasks for submitted changes in a timely and accurate manor within MAGIC, MyWorkshop & Oracle systems.

Keep accurate records to provide evidence for audits and Quality Management Systems.

Ensure all required and accurate manufacturing documentation is held in the MAGIC or MyWorkshop database.

Work with the New Product Development Team to collate accurate information to complete the registration process and generate production documentation prior to the product launch.

Chair Engineering Change Control Board meetings.

Promote Change Control best practices are followed to encourage standardization of reviewing, approving and implementing changes with the Cardiff facility.

Provide project support when required and ensure the correct processes are followed in line with the GE QMS Procedures.

Support other members of the admin team during absence as the need arises in undertaking the above duties.

Execute MAGIC and Oracle activities for the creation of a new part, product routing setup and maintenance.

Control and update Routing Standards as required.

Provide training and problem solving support when required for MAGIC, MyWorkshop & Oracle systems.

Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required


Qualifications/Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Administrative experience working in a corporate environment at a technical administration support level.

Experience in similar role within a high volume-manufacturing environment.

Worked with Bill Of Materials (BOM’s), product routings and process documentation in similar role.

Strong demonstrated writing skills, articulating complex ideas in an easy to understand manner.

Demonstrated project management skills to plan and deliver on established tactical and strategic goals.

Experience at an advanced level using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Visio applications as well as use of the internet and web applications (i.e. ability to draft correspondence and create PowerPoint presentations for leadership team); basic level of Excel application to create charts, diagrams and tables of data.

Desired Characteristics:

Minimum standard GCSE or Equivalent in Math’s and English (Grade C or above)

HNC/D in in a related Engineering Discipline

Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills, with ability and confidence to effectively interface with senior management and high-profile clients.

Familiarity and working knowledge of relational databases and knowledge of the GE Internet, Support Central and other relevant applications desirable.

Extremely well organized, with attention to detail, yet able to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities.

Professional approach, good judgment, creative problem-solver. Possessing the personal drive and commitment to implement innovative solutions.

Ability to accepting constructive criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations. This includes continuing to persevere and remaining calm in challenging or frustrating circumstances.

A self-starter able to work on own initiative and well in a team environment.

A flexible approach as this role is developing to suit the business needs.
