Overview of the role:

- Responsible for setting up various CNC lathes and mills, and performing first run quality checks in line with NHL quality standards

- Responsible for creating & modifying CNC programmes where required to achieve optimal efficiency, using on & off line programming methods

- Responsible for monitoring & improving component, tooling & machine maintenance costs

- Providing insight into business manufacturing road map

- Expanding the use of automated MFG technology

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

- Introducing CAM technology to NHL

- Program data for CNC machines including CNC lathes & mills, including writing & modifying existing programmes for increased efficiency

- Set up lathes & mills by installing & adjusting jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings etc

- Identifying & selecting correct cutting tools, and calculating optimal speeds & feeds, detecting malfunctions

- Adhering to quality assurance procedures & processes, including the creation & implementation of new procedures & processes

- Establish & drive process for cost effective revision control of all machine programs

- Performing quality checks on first off articles

- Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; requesting repairs

- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting & communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs

- Contribute to lean manufacturing & continuous improvement initiatives

- Liaise with CNC machine operators to troubleshoot any issues

-Prepare detailed work instructions & supervise machining process validations including operator training

-Providing technical assistance to operators to ensure changes in programmes are adhered to

- Through time, cross train to provide programming support in robotics

Essential Criteria:

- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings

- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role

- Experience of writing & modifying CNC programmes, including setting work centres for first run parts

- Previous experience reading & understanding engineering drawings

- Must have good problem-solving skills

- Must have excellent time management skills

- Must have good organisational & planning skills

- Must have excellent written & verbal communication skills

- Previous experience or strong understanding of working against ISO 9001 Framework

-IT literate and willing to develop CAM skills

Desirable Criteria:

- 5 years + experience in a similar role

- CADCAM milling & turning experience

Hours of Work:

Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 17:30

Friday: 08:00 - 14:00

Total: 42hrs per week

Job Type: Full-time
