Purpose of the Role


We have an exciting opportunity for a London-based ambitious and driven Marketing and Communications Manager to join a high-energy rail infrastructure company. The purpose of the role is to support the business strategy by managing the marketing and communications function for the UK business.


Key Accountabilities


Safety - Support the implementation of the Colas Rail Limited Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) strategy and associated initiatives.

Profitability - Deliver effective communications to effectively position the company to win new business and attract the best talent. Seek competitive rates for external supplier services whilst staying within budget.

Quality - Provide enriching content to drive employee and stakeholder engagement and enhance market position.

Respect - Build effective business relationships with business unit leads, suppliers, partners and external agencies in order to generate relevant content.

Key Tasks

Create and execute all internal and external marketing communication plans and implement communications activities that support the business's strategic goals and initiatives

Manage and create compelling content and messages using storytelling to engage employees and distribute executive messages, prepare presentations, internal communications and campaigns and news articles

Write press releases and editorials with key stakeholders, ensuring that these documents are accurate, factual and delivered on time

Manage the production of internal communications, news, videos, blog content

Manage the external and internal events and communications calendar

Develop branded marketing collateral for internal use

Ensure consistent messaging throughout the organisation

Manage the execution and delivery of branded assets and marketing materials

Write social media content and ensure accurate implementation and execution

Manage initiatives and campaigns, press and social media activities

Be the first point of contact for media and public related enquires

Manage the customer feedback survey and report findings to the business

Work in partnership with our business units and alliance teams to develop joint communications plans as per the Stronger Together Project to support operational objectives.

Manage and execute all pre and post event plans, seeking feedback to continuously improve future events

Person Specification


The successful candidate will have first-class copywriting skills. Be bursting with energy, creative ideas and have experience of successfully managing digital channels. You will have an excellent understanding of digital marketing and the ability to make a real impact in a rapidly evolving and fast-paced business.

Experience:

Excellent IT skills (Inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Photoshop)

Experience using a variety of social media channels (LinkedIn , Twitter, Instagram and Yammer), WordPress based internet and SharePoint based intranet

Outstanding copywriting experience with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to write concise & compelling copy

Sound working knowledge of digital media, particularly in developing dynamic communications.

Proven track record of project management dealing with multiple stakeholders across multiple projects

Experience managing budgets and delivering to tight deadlines

Experience producing online surveys and reporting back on findings
